The Digital Bricklayer is otherwise known as Jack Hughes who many moons ago co-founded OPENXTRA Ltd, a UK based VAR. His background is mostly in programming, though his time is now split between programming, systems administration, web design, washing up and sales.

OPENXTRA is a small company so he gets to do everything, usually all at the same time. If he couldn’t multi-task before he sure can now!

Jack’s work experience has largely been with small/medium sized companies. Until co-founding OPENXTRA he worked as a full time programmer, mostly in C++ with a few years of early C.

Things have broadened out since then. Jack still does program in bursts, but he now does search engine marketing (SEM), webmastering, tech support and systems administration. Anything that needs to be done really That’s the fun bit about founding your own company.
